Luss

We were told that Luss was a must stop.  It was said to be a model village, the only one of its type in Scotland

Luss (Lus in Gaelic) is a village  in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, on the west bank of Loch Lomond.

Its original name is Clachan dubh, or 'dark village'. Luss is the ancestral home of Clan Colquhoun.

Nowadays Luss is a conservation village. Many of Luss' cottages have been described as picturesque.

The village has a kilt maker and a bagpipe works.

We travel along Loch Lomand with its calm deep waters, islands and colorful hills, covered with heather.
